Top pick: #6 (ILLUMINANT) (7-2) - Well bred filly is racing third back off a seven-month layoff. She has early speed and just missed going shorter June 7 at Santa Anita in her first off the layoff and first on the turf. She tired last out on the dirt and moves back to the grass while stretching out in distance. Bejarano gets aboard for the first time.
nd pick: #9 (Redhead's Rule) (3-1) - Daughter of derby winner 'Big Brown' has been on the sidelines since March 15. She raced evenly while finishing 4th of 10 that day going 6.5-furlongs on the Santa Anita turf. Much sharper in her previous start, filly is training above average and is trying a 2-turn distance for the first time.
rd pick: #10 (Artistic Difference) (6-1) - Price play raced wide while finishing 6th of 12, beaten 4-lengths here at this level going 2-turns July 25. Lightly raced, she can factor with a bit of improvement.
th pick: #3 (Girl Downstairs) (10-1) - From the Baffert barn, her best race of five came in her only previous grass attempt. She has early speed and should be involved from start-to-finish at a square price.
th pick: #2 (Sweeter Thancandy) (6-1) - She has figures that fit with these and has a bit of early speed. She's been competitive in her last four on the grass and can factor if able to avoid any traffic in this large field from her inside post.
