Top pick: #7 (FAITH LOVE HOPE) (3-1) - Speedy filly is working fast for her first race since April 20. She's went 5-0-3-1 last winter/spring and is dropped into a claimer for the first time. Spotted to win off the layoff by trainer Craig Dollase and Bejarano stays aboard.

nd pick: #5 (Best in Class) (6-1) - Lightly raced filly pressed the pace and held gamely to check in third here facing weaker on Aug. 15. It was her first back from a year's layoff, and she was claimed that day by the solid barn of Andy Mathis. Strong contender.

rd pick: #6 (Bella Campari) (6-1) - Unraced since late Feb., she's working sharply for her return. Trainer John Sadler drops her down in class, switches her from turf to "poly," and cuts her back in distance.

th pick: #10 (Ryderoo) (5-1) - Veteran maiden has been sharp in both outings at this meet, and last out finished a solid second racing at this level and distance Aug. 17. Must be left in the mix.

th pick: #4 (Smart Typical) (8-1) - She's been in with some very tough fields and is working fine for a new trainer (Phil D'Amato). New barn drops her in class, moves her to the "poly," and cuts her back in distance.
