Top pick: #5 (WILD CAROLINE) (6-5) - She's dropping way down in class and stretching out in distance in her second back from a 7-week freshening. Filly was away slowly in her return and did well to check in 5th of 9, beaten 5 1/2 lengths. The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #1 (She's Discreet) (5-2) - Lightly-raced filly has been competitive in three sprint appearances and ran a career best here when debuting Aug. 29. Speedy sort has the rail and she's dangerous if allowed to get an uncontested lead in the initial furlongs.
3rd pick: #3 (Ann's Gold) (6-1) - She showed little at Santa Anita Oct. 3 in her first race since July 30th. Filly had finished second here when facing tougher that afternoon and and she may have needed her return start. Trujillo stays aboard and she's a threat from off the pace.
4th pick: #2 (Diamond Flush) (5-1) - Lightly-raced 4-year-old exits the same Oct. 3 race as "Ann's Gold" and she ran both wide and evenly while not threatening. Can factor, but needs to step it up this afternoon.
