Top pick: #1 (DELANEY'S JOY) (3-1) - Filly had no chance after being squeezed badly at the break when debuting at Santa Anita going a mile on the grass June 27. Freshened up since, trainer Doug O'Neill drops her down in class, adds blinkers, switches her from turf to "poly," and shortens her up in distance. She has the rail, meets a weak field, and can beat this group if she has any talent at all.
2nd pick: #5 (Wild Heart Run) (4-1) - She finished a distant second when debuting at Santa Anita on June 8, then raced both wide & evenly last out at Los Alamitos. Drops down in class and has Lasix added in her first on a synthetic surface.
3rd pick: #6 (Cora Elizabeth) (7-2) - Home bred chased a fast pace and held to check in a distant third when debuting on July 5 at Pleasanton. Nice effort, she's worked since, and must be left in the mix.
4th pick: #8 (Lady Dash) (5-2) - Blinkers go on filly who finished second facing tougher on the Santa Anita dirt June 21. In her previous start, she was only a "head" behind "Wild Heart Run" and must be considered a threat at low odds.
