Top pick: #4 (DREAM TEAM) (2-1) - He's one of two entered by trainer Bob Baffert and the pair race uncoupled. This debuting son of 'Tapit' cost $1,000,000 as a yearling back in Sept. of 2013. He makes his belated debut off of a fine series of works and looks all set to make his first start a winning one.
2nd pick: #6 (Colonial Power) (5-2) - Of those that have raced, this colt by 'Curlin' has the best form. Well bet in both outings, he ran greenly when debuting in late June at Santa Anita. Given a month to recover, he broke running here July 26 and missed by a 'neck' racing at this distance. An obvious contender.
3rd pick: #1 (Waymond Bond) (12-1) - The second of the Baffert pair, he raced evenly after a slow start when debuting in the same last race as 'Colonial Power.' Expensive ($725K) son of 'Distorted Humor' has worked three times since, including a bullet half-mile work her Aug 12. Can factor at a square price.
4th pick: #2 (Skelton Pass) (3-1) - Gelding rallied to finish second when debuting here for a $62.5K tag July 31. Claimed that day by John Sadler (21% first off the claim), he's worked him twice since, including a bullet half-mile breeze Aug 18. Contends despite moving up in class.
