Top pick: #7 (FLAGSHIP) - Colt by the recently deceased "El Prado" cost a cool $1,000,000 and is working impressively for a belated debut. Prepared initially by trainer Bob Baffert at Hollywood colt has three fine local drills since shifting over here. His new main rider Martin Garcia is aboard and this colt is the horse to beat. He's one of a pair entered by Baffert and they'll race uncoupled.
2nd pick: #5 (Donato) - The 2nd of the Baffert pair had some traffic issues in his debut and lost ground late. Continues to work fast and he'll have blinkers added for this, an 18% winning move by the barn.
3rd pick: #2 (Gallantin's Run) - He finished a strong 2nd at this level and distance on the Hollywood turf July 17th in his first back off a year's layoff. His trainer(Mike Mitchell) is one of the best 2nd back off the rest (33%) and this gelding is a strong factor today.
