Freshened up for 6-weeks, she's working fine and draws a fine outside post for this distance.
2nd pick: #1 (Benner Island) (10-1) - Stretch runner is cutting back in distance after an even fifth place finish in the Fantasy Stakes (G3) at Oaklawn April 14. She was 'hard to handle' that day and has trained fast here twice since then. Trainer Brad Cox shortens her up in distance and has Javier Castellano aboard for the first time.
3rd pick: #2 (Union Strike) (6-1) - Lightly raced filly makes her first start outside of her So. California home base. She rallied to win a small stakes at Santa Anita April 9 in her first start since Dec 10. She earned a very high figure and has worked fast since.
4th pick: #7 (Golden Mischief) (12-1) - One of the busier fillies entered, she's won half of her ten starts with all of those wins coming in sprints. She's been sharp in both local starts and should be finishing fast.
5th pick: #9 (Florida Fabulous) (3-1) - Tough call on this one. She's won both starts, each going a mile at Gulfstream Park and is cutting back in distance and facing much tougher foes. Must be left in the mix.
