2nd pick: #11 (Speed Effect) (10-1) - Grey gelding has been competitive in all three starts, the latest when he finished third for a $50K tag at Keeneland. 3yo by 'Exchange rate' was 2 lengths in front of 'He's the Souperwon' that day and his stalking style and outside post are both positives in this field.
3rd pick: #10 (Trashtalkinyankee) (12-1) - Colt set a pressured pace before tiring late to check in third at this $30K tag going 7 furlongs Oct. 9 at Keeneland. It was his second back following a pair of layoffs, produced a career best figure, and he must be left in the mix at a big price.
4th pick: #6 (Young Philip) (5-2) - He's listed as the morning line favorite after tiring at Keeneland facing tougher Oct. 11. It was his first sub par effort being competitive in five straight sprints and trainer Phil D'Amato is dropping him into a claimer for the first time. An obvious contender at a short price.
5th pick: #1 (Kansas City Zip) (8-1) - The field's most experienced maiden, he's making his 15th attempt to get his initial victory. He missed by a 1/2 length here at this level Sept. 22, but will need to step it up as this group is much tougher with all the runners that are dropping in class. Believe a minor award is his ceiling.
