Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #1 (PORTOS) (5-1) - He's one of a pair of promising 3yos entered by Todd Pletcher, and they race as separate betting interests. A home-bred by 'Tapit,' he finished last in the Louisiana Derby (G1) March 21 but had been competitive in five prior to that. Working fast, he has the rail, and I give him a slight edge.
2nd pick: #6 (Locally Owned) (8-1) - At the beginning of his career, he was competitive in all six starts, but in late Feb. of 2019 he went in for a 10-month layoff. He no longer has the early speed he once had, but has finished a rallying 3rd in two of his last three, and is stretching back out in distance. I think this 4yo will be closing fast at a big price.
3rd pick: #11 (Silver Ratio) (7-2) - The second of the Pletcher trained pair, he's been freshened up since a troubled 4th place finish going a mile at Gulfstream March 27. He began his career there with a pair of very sharp efforts and was training fast at the Palm Beach Center before shipping to Churchill.
4th pick: #5 (Duke's Up) (6-1) - This old-timer went 4-2-2-0 at the Oaklawn meet and has gone 30-9-9-5 during his long career on conventional dirt. No speed type has a huge experience edge on all, and a fast and/or contested pace would help his chances out.
