Top pick: #5 (SHIP TO SHORE) (3-1) - Well-backed in his debut, he rallied while extremely wide to finish third here when sprinting on a sloppy surface for a $50K tag on Sept. 20. Grey colt was off slowlly that day and was claimed by Mike Maker. Freshened up since, he's working fast and the new trainer wins at a 25% rtae first off the claim.
nd pick: #1 (Bad Student) (7-2) - Lightly raced and improving, home-bred has the rail, and some positional speed to utilize. Gelding has finished third in his last pair and is a win candidate.
rd pick: #3 (The Duck) (10-1) - He debuted in the same Sept. 20 race as "Ship to Shore" and showed absolutely nothing. Good barn (Al Stall Jr. 25% second out) drops him down and stretches him out in distance.
th pick: #9 (Rooster Cruiser) (20-1) - Well-bred colt takes a big drop in price and stretches out in distance. He showed some speed last out sprinting and think he can factor at a big price.
th pick: #10 (Kenrado) (8-1) - One-paced type draws a tough outside post but could grab a share at a big price if he avoids a wide trip.
