Top pick: #8 (FLORES ISLAND) (5-2) - Daughter of "Giant's Causeway" had some serious traffic issues at this level and distance on the Keeneland "poly" when she was beaten two lengths there on April 12th. Race was her first off a seven week break and trainer Bill Mott moves her back to the grass and has her making back-to-back starts for the first time. Filly missed by a neck two back at Gulfstream in her only previous turf effort.
2nd pick: #10 (Abbey Street) (7-2) - Home-bred by "Street Boss" has been competitiie in all five grass starts and last out closed fastest at Keeneland when finishing 4th of 10, beaten 1 1/2 lengths at this level and distance April 13th. Win candidate.
3rd pick: #7 (Islamorada) (10-1) - Filly is moved to the grass by conditioner Helen Pitts (the original trainer of "Curlin") after she was competitive in two of three starts on the Oaklawn main track. The latest came on a very muddy surface and don't believe she cared for it at all. Bred for the grass, working well, gets blinkers on, and she'll be a big price.
4th pick: #2 (Balansense) (5-1) - Another getting blinkers on, filly rallied while wide to finish 4th of 12, beaten 4 1/2 lengths racing at this level on the Fair Grounds turf March 16th. The faster the pace, the better her prospects.
