Top pick: #1 (RADIANT ENERGY) (2-1) - The day's Best Bet, speedy grey gelding has been freshened up since an easy gate-to-wire win at the Fair Grounds at this tag and trip Feb 16. That was a career best and this 4-year-old meets a field with little other speed and breaks from the rail. The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #3 (City Connect) (6-1) - Oaklawn invader was competitive in two of four there after coming off almost a 2 1/2 month break in early Feb. Stretch runner has run well several times here in the past and should be making up ground during the stretch run.
3rd pick: #4 (Plug Catcher) (10-1) - His lack of speed is a negative, but he's won here before and earlier in his career he had some promise. Four-year-old by 'Roman Ruler' fits on figures and would benefit greatly if another horse tries to run with 'Radiant Energy' in the first 1/2 mile.
4th pick: #8 (Golden But Stormy) (5-2) - Very lightly-raced 6-year-old ships from Tampa where he raced evenly in a pair on the turf facing tougher. He broke his maiden here last fall going a mile on the dirt and can contend if able to avoid a wide trip.
