Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #4 (BOURBON CALLING) (3-1) - He's moving back to the dirt while shortening up in distance. 3yo raced evenly in a one mile grass contest April 17 at Keeneland, and he spent most of the contest being a handful for his ride. $120K purchase was much sharper in three prior to that while sprinting on the dirt, and he's dropping into a claimer for the first time here.
2nd pick: #8 (Michael T) (6-1) - A NEW gelding, he's been on the sidelines since finishing a pace setting 4th when debuting in an Arlington sprint Aug. 2. Well bet that day, he's working fast, and seems prepared to make an impact at a square price.
3rd pick: #6 (Encinitas) (9-2) - Lasix is added to this lightly raced 4yo by 'Union Rags.' Competitive in all three starts, he's racing for the first time since Feb. 21, and that start followed a 8.5-month layoff. Training steadily, he may get a share at a square price.
4th pick: #7 (Alex of Ice) (12-1) - Colt stretches out a furlong following a pair of even efforts at Oaklawn at this level going six panels. That pair in Arkansas drew strong fields, and this 3yo is capable of factoring at long odds.
