Trainer Ron Moquette drops her down and stretches her out to a mile for the first time. It's noted that around this time last year she ran second in two straight, going 7-furlongs on this strip for a higher tag.
2nd pick: #8 (Something Blue) (5-1) - Speedy filly draws a nice outside post at this "flat" (one-turn mile)and she missed by a "nose" at this tag on the Fair Grounds' dirt March 14th. She broke her maiden here on Oct. 30 when racing on a "sloppy" surface and is very dangerous with her best.
3rd pick: #2 (Rowdy Miss) (9-2) - Daughter of "Malibu Moon" ships up from Gulfstream where she won two of four this past winter, with both victories coming at this "flat" mile. In shape and she should be involved from gate-to-wire if she holds her form
4th pick: #1 (C P Hath a Way) (3-1) - Mare switches from turf-to-dirt after a trio of even efforts on the Fair Ground's lawn this past winter. No-speed type draws the rail and rallied to finish second here for twice this price at this trip on the dirt Nov. 20. There's lots of speed signed on and that makes her late running style potentially dangerous.
