Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #2 (WELLLABELED) (10-1) - This veteran moves back to the grass after finishing a pace-setting 3rd in a $75,000 stake going six furlongs on the all-weather surface at Presque Isle Downs Aug. 17. A winner of a pair of turf sprints in his previous pair, he won a local allowance June 27 defeating several of today's rivals. This 6yo has a solid chance at a big price. Trust in the process.
nd pick: #10 (Caratori) (8-1) - Very consistent 4yo was the winner of a $100K turf sprint Aug. 2 at Ellis Park. He had a wide trip in his previous start when finishing three lengths behind 'Welllabeled' and is dangerous today at a square price.
rd pick: #5 (Extravagant Kid) (7-2) - This old-timer was away slowly before finishing fastest to miss by just over a length in a G2 grass sprint at Keeneland May 29. A multiple stakes winner on the turf at this distance, he's gone 12-6-3-0 over the past two years and is a strong win candidate.
th pick: #14 (Chief Cicatriz) (15-1) - He rallied from close range to finish a 1/2 length in back of 'Welllabeled' in a turf sprint July 15 at Canterbury Park. It was his first-ever on the grass after having won 14 of 22 on the dirt prior to that. Longshot possibility.
th pick: #1 (Diamond Oops) (8-1) - Talented gelding goes dirt to turf in his first start back off a series of layoffs. He lacks the grass experience of the top three picks, has the rail, and believe a minor award is his ceiling.
