Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #2 (COSMIC CODE) (3-1) - Unlike the vast majority entered, this filly has already raced at this distance, albeit on the grass. She rallied from close range to finish 2nd when debuting at this level Oct. 20 at Keeneland. In the barn of Brad Cox (21% second time out), he switches her to the dirt (28%), she draws a fine post, and enters off a sharp half-mile local breeze Nov. 18. Juddmonte home bred gets a slight edge.
nd pick: #1 (Delcapem) (4-1) - Daughter of 'Uncle Mo' sold for $190,000 as a 2yo in training this past April. She's raced evenly in her first pair, had solid excuses in each, is working above average, has the rail, and blinkers go on. She's been bet each time and is a major player today.
rd pick: #8 (New Roo) (7-2) - This filly missed by a 1/2 length when debuting here at this level going 6.5 furlongs Oct. 28. Trainer Tom Drury (31% second time out) stretches her out in distance (12 for 28, 43%), and she must be left in the mix.
th pick: #13 (Malibu Party) (10-1) - She ships in from Indiana where she finished 2nd, beaten a 'head' in an 'off the turf' contest at this level Oct. 31. A career best, she may get a share, but her outside post is a negative.
th pick: #11 (Shacklette) (3-1) - Speedy sort has finished 2nd in four straight, all here at various distances. She's done so twice at a one-turn mile and is attempting a two-turn distance for the first time here. Her experience is a plus, but I think she's beatable at a short price.
