She's won three in a row at the Fair Grounds, all after returning from almost an 8-week layoff and a private trainer switch to Jones. Filly has won from both on and off the pace and is the horse to beat if she brings her New Orleans form with her.
2nd pick: #7 (Lovely Maria) (5-1) - The second of the Jones pair, she enters off a career best effort April 5th at Keeneland. Filly rated just off the pace, swept to the lead when asked, then drew away to an easy score in the Ashland Stakes (G1). Win candidate.
3rd pick: #10 (Oceanwave) (15-1) - Longshot missed by a 'neck' at Oaklawn in the G3 Fantasy Stakes April 4th. Grey filly is consistent 5-2-2-1 and strong finisher has improved since stretching out around two turns. Dangerous at a big price.
4th pick: #12 (Stellar Wind) (7-2) - Lightly-raced daughter of 'Curlin' ships back east after a pair of impressive wins at Santa Anita. Strong finisher won the G3 Santa Ysabel on Feb. 28, then was an easy winner of the G1 Santa Anita Oaks April 4th. Working well for this and an obvious threat if she brings her California form with her.
5th pick: #11 (Sarah Sis) (30-1) - She had a troubled trip last out at Oaklawn when finishing 4-lengths back of 'Oceanwave'. Very sharp prior to that and trainer Ingrid Mason makes a positive jockey switch to Gary Stevens.
6th pick: #5 (Condo Commando) (4-1) - Speedball makes her first start away from New York where she's gone 6-5-0-0. G1 winner ships from Aqueduct where she won the G2 Gazelle on April 4th. Filly is dangerous if she brings her NYRA speed with her.
