Both races were at this distance and he finished behind today's rival 'Knicks Go' each time. However, he moves from the 13-post to the rail and the ground saving draw can make all the difference.
2nd pick: #13 (Knicks Go) (5-2) - Speedy grey colt upset the Breeders' Futurity (G1) at odds of 70-1 Oct. 6 at Keeneland, then finished second at 40-1 in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile (G1) here Nov. 2. Both came when Lasix was added and he should be involved every step, but he'll need to avoid a wide trip into the first turn from his tough outside post.
3rd pick: #7 (Limonite) (12-1) - He's gone 3-1-1-1 to date and has never been beaten more than a 'neck'. He broke his maiden here at this distance from an outside post (12-of-12) and when debuting Sept. 1 at Saratoga he was only a 'neck' behind 'Signalman'. Longshot must be left in the mix.
4th pick: #4 (Dunph) (8-1) - An easy winner of both sprints facing weaker, he won a minor stakes here going 7 furlongs Oct. 28. Speed/stalker is racing around two turns for the first time and gets a 'class' test this afternoon.
5th pick: #6 (Blue Steel) (15-1) - $270K purchase raced evenly when debuting here at 6 furlongs Sept. 15. Bet down to 2-1 favoritism that afternoon, he came back 6 weeks later and won by 5 lengths here going 7 furlongs. Colt had a huge half-mile bullet breeze Nov. 12 and may get a piece of this at a very big price.
