Top pick: #6 (LADY OF SHAMROCK) (2-1) - Grade one winner on this surface, she did so last July when taking the "American Oaks". She's gone (4-1-2-0) since that time and was only beaten 2 1/2 lengths in the $2M "Breeder's Cup F & M Turf (G1) at Santa Anita on Nov. 2. Last out she was placed first on April 20 in the (G2) "Santa Barbara" and has a big recency edge on her main rival "Marketing Mix".
2nd pick: #7 (Marketing Mix) (5-2) - Her grass record stands at (11-7-3-0). She had a fantastic 2012, going (7-4-2-0) all in Grade one or two stakes. Working well for her first since Nov. 2, and she's (3-2-1-0) at this demanding 1 1/8th mile trip. Strong win candidate.
3rd pick: #5 (Halo Dolly) (6-1) - "Dolly" comes off a sharp win here on April 28 in the "Willshire" Stakes (G3), and she's undefeated on this surface (two for two). Mare has a flexible style, fits, but will need to step it up some to defeat the top pair.
4th pick: #2 (Tiz Flirtatious) (3-1) - Very consistent (9-6-2-1) mare, defeated "Shamrock" in late March at Santa Anita and hasn't raced since. Her grass record is (5-3-2-0) and has shown dramatic improvement since switching to the turf last fall.
