Top pick: #10 (STONEY FLEECE) - He's the typa that never seems to tire so this 9 furlong trip shouldn't pose any problem for this late running colt. He won 4 of 8 starts last year as a 2yo and missed by a neck in his seasonal debut at Santa Anita facing "open" company in a turf stakes. Last out he raced wide and evenly after breaking from a tough outside post in the Pasadena stakes and was only beaten 2 1/2 lengths. Trainer John Sadler moves him back in with fellow Cal-breds and switches him from turf to "poly" 3yo has never raced locally, but was 2 for 3 last year on a similar surface at Del Mar.
2nd pick: #9 (Suances Candy) - Recent maiden winner did so at Santa Anita going "down the hill" March 24th. Takes a big step up this afternoon as he faces winners,tries a two-turn distance, and runs on a "poly" surface, all for the first time.
3rd pick: #8 (Dylan Donnelly) - Maiden takes on winners, but enters this in sharp form for the Mitchell barn. Grey gelding should love this distance and with Marty Garcia at Churchill today, Talamo takes over.
4th pick: #1 (Corner Office) - Has the rail and runs 2nd back off a 7 week freshening. He defeated "Dylan" in January but has raced evenly in both starts facing winners. Needs to step it up this afternoon.
