Top pick: #5 (LIASION) (2-1) - Colt has always been a runner of quality and has really excelled on this surface 5-3-1-1. He won the rich "Cash Call Futurity" (G1) as a 2-year-old here in Dec. of 2011 and in his best race ever he took the (G2) Mervyn Leroy Hdcp. four weeks ago. He's working fast since, has a flexible style, and is the horse to beat.
2nd pick: #1 (Clubhouse Ride) (5-2) - Tremendously improved of late, he's a very good animal on real dirt, but his local record stands at (6-0-1-3). That said, he hasn't raced on this surface for a long time and is a much better horse at this stage. In career best shape and a win candidate.
3rd pick: #7 (Blueskiesnrainbows) (4-1) - He defeated "Liaison" here in the "Swaps"(G) here last July and has gone 4-1-2-0 in 2013. Last out he set the pace and tired in the local "Leroy," and was 4 1/2 back of that common rival that afternoon. Speed/stalker must be left in the mix.
4th pick: #3 (Kettle Corn) (7-2) - Veteran always comes to run and he finished second to $4M winner "Game On Dude" in this stakes a year ago. One-run type fits, but others seem a bit more likely to win this.
