Top pick: #5 (SWEET ELATION) - He's been bet in both appearances and last out here he broke slowly, rushed up to contest a fast pace, fought his way to a short lead, and tired in the last 1/16th. Race was his first in almost four months and he'll be making back to back starts for the first time. Noted speed rider Marty Pedroza is enlisted and this gelding is the choice for the win.
2nd pick: #7 (Axle) - Away slowly when debuting here facing tougher May 20th, he ran evenly while wide in a useful first start. Trainer Kathy Walsh brings him back in just under three weeks, drops him way down, and removes his blinkers. Nice to see Marty Garcia back aboard and expect this 3-year-old to be competitive.
3rd pick: #8 (Skully Gully) - He has some early speed and last out he set a pressured pace before weakening facing state-bred special weights on the local turf May 11th. He's come back with a pair of nice works and looks set for a big effort.
