Top pick: #7 (DHAAMER) - I liked this Irish imports chances last out, but he could only manage a close up fourth-place finish in the the (G2) San Juan Capistrano going 14 furlongs on the Santa Anita grass on closing day there (April 22nd). He had run strongly in his previous effort at this distance and think the third start back off a 5 1/2 month break can do the trick.
2nd pick: #3 (Quaintly) - Filly takes on the boys for the 7th time in her last nine starts and has gone (2-2-1) in those. Daughter of "Giant's Causeway" finished a strong second at Santa Anita to today's rival "Lumberyard Jack" on April 20th at this distance and that was her first North American start, and first of a 7 1/2 month layoff. Dangerous rival.
3rd pick: #4 (Dynamic Host) - Long-winded gelding by the recently deceased "Dynaformer" rallied from dead last to win the (G3) Tokyo City Cup racing at Santa Anita at this 12 furlong distance on the dirt March 24th. Moves to the grass and he's only one for ten on it. Nontheless, a stretch threat.
