Top pick: #6 (SCHIAPERELLI) (8-5) - Speedy, talented, and lightly raced, she just failed to hold off the mighty "Mizdirection" at Santa Anita in the "Las Ciengas" stakes (G3) on April 13 in a very strong effort. Working fast since, she's the main speed and will be extremely tough to beat.
2nd pick: #5 (Curvy Cat) (6-1) - Like most of trainer Jerry Hollendorfer's mares, this one has improved with racing and has won two of her last three . One run type is one for two on the grass and will be finishing fast.
3rd pick: #1 (Purim's Dancer) (3-1) - She's one of two entered by trainer Tom Proctor, and although not as talented as "Customer Base," she has a recency edge on her barn-mate and much more early speed. Has the rail and should be close up through-out.
4th pick: #4 (Customer Base) (4-1) - As mentioned above, the second of the Proctor fillies has more talent than "Dancer," but she hasn't run since late Oct., and this daughter of "Lemon Drop Kid" prefers more distance. Her best chance would be if someone is able to run with "Schiaparelli" early on.
