Top pick: #6 (BELLE PASSE) - Lightly-raced filly began her career in Ireland a year ago and was beaten a head in a large field (16) racing at their most important track (The Curragh). Kentucky-bred was sent here and has won both starst at Santa Anita after returning from a 8 1/2 month layoff and joining the barn of Pete Eurton. Moves up to try stakes competition and races around two-turns, both for the first time. The horse to beat, she's one of two entered here by Eurton and the pair race uncoupled.
2nd pick: #2 (Graser) - Irish-bred broke her maiden in England last October and won her North American debut Feb. 2 at Santa Anita at this mile distance. She followed that up with a pace-pressing fourth-place finish in a stakes there on March 10th and has been freshened up by trainer Mike Mitchell since then. Speedy sort is working fast and is a win candidate.
3rd pick: #3 (Bobina) - Undefeated filly (2-for-2) won her debut at Santa Anita March 31st at this mile distance, something not easy to do for a first time starter. She showed that it was no fluke last out when she went back-to-back racing on a sloppy surface in a switched contest April 13th. Workin fine, she moves back to the turg and up in class.
