Top pick: #9 (ROYAL MERIDIAN) - Gelding finished 2nd last out as the favorite when he could not catch the wire to wire winner. He's come back with a bullet half-mile work on June 1st and trainer Julio canani will drop him into a claimer for the first time. Draws a nice outside post and there's plenty of potential speed for him to stalk.
2nd pick: #8 (Visionary Man) - Price play has only run twice and the two starts came 19 1/2 months apart. Grey 5yo by "Unbridled's Song" raced evenly in both and is training nicely on this surface for his first effort since late October.
3rd pick: #2 (You're Joking) - He was bet in both Del Mar appearances last summer and was beaten a neck there at this tag on Sep 1st. Working well for his return and Raf Bejarano( who had other options) stays aboard.
4th pick: #5 (Hammer the Bay) - He was involved a pace-duel here on May 20th and held gamely to finis 3rd in his first since debuting here last November. Speedy sort retains Pedroza and this grey colt should be in this from gate to wire.
