Top pick: #1 (APOSTLE PAUL) (7-5) - The probable favorite, he's finished second in three straight on the grass at this level, and has done so against stronger fields than this. Colt by "Giant's Causeway" has a flexible style, draws the rail, and wins this with a "clean" trip.
2nd pick: #3 (Incentivize) (2-1) - Grey gelding has the best chance at a possible upset. 4yo by "Tapit" exits the same local May 5 race as "Paul" and he had a wide trip and some serious traffic issues at the 1/8th pole. He was just under three back of that rival at the finish and runs third back off a long layoff (eight months). Dangerous.
3rd pick: #5 (Scatman Blues) (5-2) - Gelding raced evenly in his debut, then made up some ground after a slow start in his second outing. He appears to be the type that can "run all day," so he should like this 10 furlong trip, which all entered are trying for the first time.
4th pick: #6 (Angel Charge) (15-1) - Unraced since April 7, he hasn't raced very well in three starts, but will have blinkers added and could grab a minor award at a big price.
