Top pick: #5 (SLIM SHADEY) (2-1) - Veteran English-bred ships back from Kentucky where he ran evenly in the (G1) "Turf Classic" won by "Wise Dan" on the "Derby" undercard. He "acted up" before the start and may not have cared for a course that had a lot of moisture in it. He's the horse to beat with his "A" game.
2nd pick: #1 (Lucky Primo) (6-1) - Clearly the main speed and this lightly raced 7-year-old draws the inside post. He's a perfect 3-for-3 on this course and is training nicely for his first race since winning the $175K "Cal Cup Classic" on the Santa Anita dirt Oct. 13th. Dangerous and he's won off of layoffs in the past.
3rd pick: #4 (Tale of a Champion) (8-1) - When last in action, he was winning a small grass stakes going 1 1/8th miles at Santa Anita on March 30th. Race was run in very fast time (1:46.80) and he earned a high "fig." Stalker is working above average for his return and must be left in the mix.
4th pick: #2 (All Squared Away) (3-1) - Very consistent 4-1-2-1 earlier this year and last out he came up a nose short at Santa Anita in the "San Juan Capistrano" (G2) on April 21st. Working above average for this and he's won at this 10-furlong trip in the past.
