Top pick: #4 (LAKE MARACAIBO) (2-1) - The probable favorite, she's finished second in all three starts and brings a speed/stalking style to the contest. Trainer Bill Spawr has her working sharply for her first start in a year and when last in action she finished second on this surface after setting a pressured pace. Takes this if ready.
2nd pick: #7 (Princess of Pearl) (5-2) - One of two entered by trainer Doug O'Neill and she comes off a pair of narrow defeats at Santa Anita. Stalker missed by a nose there on April 19th and she has a big recency edge on "Maracaibo." Strong win candidate.
3rd pick: #6 (Hard Rockin Girl) (8-1) - The second of the O'Neill fillies, she has some talent, but has been a handful for her rider in her last pair. Can factor at a big price if she settles down a bit more in the early stages.
4th pick: #1 (Perfect Package) (6-1) - Daughter of "Tiznow" raced evenly when debuting in a dirt sprint at Santa Anita on Feb. 3. Blinkers and lasix are added as trainer Neil Drysdale switches her to the turf and stretches her out in distance.
