Top pick: #7 (WISE BOSS) (5-2) - The probable favorite, grey gelding by "Street Boss" set a pressured pace and held to finish a clear second to a "much the best" winner here at this tag on May 4th. Nice effort was a much improved race over his debut run and veteran Ron Ellis has worked him twice since. 3-year-old draws outside of the other pace and that's to his advantage.
2nd pick: #5 (Colossians) (7-2) - Baffert trained hime-bred by "Indian Charlie" raced evenly while between horses most of the way when debuting here on May 10th for a $50K tag. Dizney owned and bred, he's worked twice since, drops in value, and Baffert wins at a 27% clip second time out.
3rd pick: #2 (Dark Timbers) (8-1) - Improving sort rallied to finish fourth here on May 11th when racing against a bit cheaper and did so despite a troubled start. He moves up slightly in price and gets a rider upgrade to Kevin Krigger.
4th pick: #6 (Winning Connections) (6-1) - He was off slowly when debuting against special weights in late August at Del Mar and has been sidelined since. Well-bred son of "Read the Footnotes" cost $110K and is offered up in his return for $30K. Working steadily and trainer Craig Dollase has his "go to" rider Edwin Maldonado aboard.
