Top pick: #6 (HANSERELLA) (6-1) - Price play is clearly better on the turf (3-0-1-2) and moves back to the lawn after tiring from a very difficult post (13th of 13) racing here in a sprint on the "all weather" April 27th. Speed/stalker draws much better for this move back to the lawn and It's Hernandez off and Nakatani on.
2nd pick: #5 (Coconut Cream Pie) (4-1) - Very lightly-raced filly was claimed on March 21st by Jeff Mullins for $50K and he's had her freshening up since. She's been competitive in her first pair and is bred to handle the grass. Working steadily and Mullins has been hot since the action shifted here from Santa Anita.
3rd pick: #1 (Lakeside Bride) (7-2) - Speedy filly is about equal on turf 7 "poly" and comes off a second-place finish on the "all weather" April 27th. She's worked fast since and Bejarano stays aboard. In the mix.
4th pick: #8 (Tribal Chatter) (4-1) - Lightly-raced filly rallied to finish second here on the "all weather" April 13th facing fellow Cal.-bred $40K claimers. Race was her first since early June of last year and trainer Vic Garcia moves her to the turf for the first time and adds blinkers.
