Top pick: #4 (PRIME NUMBER) (5-2) - The probable favorite, he has excellent early speed. On Nov. 15 here at this distance, gelding set a fast and pressured pace and held gamely to finish second in his first race since Feb. 24. Trainer John Sadler has worked him three times since and two of those were of the bullet variety. The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #5 (Southern Heart) (6-1) - He exits the same Nov. 15 contest as "Prime" and ran well to finish fourth after being "bumped" at the break. Trainer Eric Guillot adds blinkers and this son of "Arch" had a very fast 5-furlong work Dec. 9, presumably with the new equipment on. Price play.
3rd pick: #2 (Valdirone) (3-1) - Nice debut here on the main-track Nov. 10 saw him set/press a fast pace and hold strongly to miss by less than a length, while just over four clear of the third-place runner. Working nicely since and he'll try and transfer that "poly" form to the turf.
