Top pick: #2 (TIZNOW OR THEN) - $300K son of "Tiznow" really enjoyed his first grass appearance when he set a solid pace and was beaten by a neck racing at this level going a mile at Santa Anita Oct. 25. Effort came off a two month freshening and the addition of lasix from trainer Ron Ellis. Veteran conditioner brings him back quickly for this and 3-year-old is the horse to beat.
2nd pick: #8 (Sumerian) - Price play has been bet in both outings and has raced evenly in each while not beaten all that much. $230K gelding by "Street Cry" is working fast for his first race since Oct. 4, presumably with the blinkers trainer Julio canani adds this afternoon.
3rd pick: #6 (Candy's Jewel) - He's finished second in three straight for trainer Jerry Hollendorfer, two on the Santa Anita dirt and one on this surface a year ago. Stalker fits with these, goes second off a nine month layoff, and is a win candidate.
