Top pick: #5 (ON THE BACKSTREETS) (3-1) - Debuting daughter of "Street Boss" cost $105K and has some impressive local drills showing for an excellent first-out barn (Pete Miller 24%). Like her chances.
2nd pick: #2 (Ninnavee) (5-2) - The probable favorite, she's already making her third start and has finished second here at this distance in both appearances. Filly runs off a trainer change to Ed Truman and she has Bejarano aboard for the first time. The only member of this field with racing experience and an obvious win candidate at a short price.
3rd pick: #6 (Kristinite) (4-1) - Probably named in honor of her trainer (Kristin Mulhall), grey filly by "Zanjero" has four consecutive fast works on this surface, including a sharp half-mile gate breeze on May 10th. The barn is capable first out and noted "speed" rider Marty Pedroza is signed on.
4th pick: #4 (Daylight's Coming) (7-2) - Filly by "Stormy Atlantic" cost $130K and is another that has some fine AM moves showing. Barn (Jeff Bonde) already has three wins at this meet, and his "go to" rider Edwin Maldonado is aboard.
