Top pick: #8 (BROTHER PETE) (5-2) - Lightly-raced colt is one of two entered by trainer John Sadler and this son of "Broken Vow" finished a close up third when debuting at this level going "down the hill" at Santa Anita on March 30th. Draws a nice outside post, is working well locally, and Bejarano is back on the re-ride.
2nd pick: #6 (Concorde West) (4-1) - Oaklawn invader has plenty of early speed and is in the annually high-percentage barn of Cody Autry. Grey colt has some sharp local works since arriving here and will be racing on the turf for the first time. Win candidate.
3rd pick: #1 (Pirate's Pleasure) (6-1) - He exits the same March 30th Santa Anita contest as "Pete" and he was competitive despite a trouble start. Son of "Mizzen Mast" was a bit more than two lengths back of that rival on the wire and has been training above average since.
4th pick: #5 (Maxx the Giant) (5-1) - Gelding enters off a pair of sharp tries at Santa Anita and will be moving up a bit in class for this attempt. He seems best from off the pace and should receive a fast pace to rally into.
