Top pick: #5 (OLD MAN LAKE) (4-1) - Gelding ships back from Golden Gate Fields where he raced wide and evenly in an upper level starter-allowance on May 2nd. Race was his first off an Adam Kitchingman claim and he drops him down to $5K over the purchase price. 3-year-old by "Salt Lake" is rounding back into form following a 4 1/2 month layoff and can take this at a square price.
2nd pick: #6 (Great Friends Rule) (7-2) - Grey gelding "bobbled" at the break and tired after rushing up to press the pace racing here at this level May 26th. He'd just missed in his previous effort and is a win candidate in this small field.
3rd pick: #1 (Corsa Di Cavalli) (5-2) - Colt has been away since finishing 7th of 8 in early Sept. of 2011 racing in the "Del Mar Futurity" (G1). He had won his debut there a month earlier, so you know that he can fire "fresh." That said, 21 months is a very long time to be on the sidelines and he'll need to be sharp to handle the top two selections. His works are about average, but back on May 11th trainer John Sadler looks like he put some speed into him.
