Top pick: #7 (CHARISMA CODE) (2-1) - Grey gelding has been competitive in four of his six starts and has done his best work on this surface (3-0-1-2). One-run type draws a nice outside post at this 6.5-furlong distance and is the horse to beat.
2nd pick: #1 (Regal Ready) (5-1) - Colt drops in class after a "troubled" trip when debuting here on Nov. 9 facing Cal.-bred special weights. He's worked since, has blinkers added, and runs for a strong second out barn (Bob Diodoro 26%).
3rd pick: #6 (Head South) (6-1) - "Tommy Town" home-bred ships down from Golden Gate Fields where he flashed some early speed facing tougher. Drops, has blinkers on, and trainer Steve Miyadi has won with three of his last nine taking this drop.
4th pick: #4 (Mosso) (4-1) - The field's most experienced maiden, he's "nibbled" at this tag before and is working very fast for his first since Oct. 27. Colt should be involved from start-to-finish.
