Top pick: #5 (CLASSIC SENSE) (3-1) - Son of "Street Sense" cost owner Paul Pompa Jr $300k and trainer Chad Brown drops him into a claimer for the first time. Freshened up sinvce March 29th, 3yo has been working sharply, including a bullet 5-furlongs here on April 27. Barn wins at a 26% rate on this particular drop and they have this colt set for a big effort.
2nd pick: #4 (Howl) (7-2) - Not sure if he'll go as he ran here this past Wed in a grass race where he tired badly after contesting the pace. Colt has some talent and catches a field where his early speed will be dangerous. A win candidate if he runs back on three days rest.
3rd pick: #2 (Neilos) (6-1) - He has a bit of speed and is racing second back off a half-year's absence. Colt was competitive in all three dirt starts in 2013 and his trainer (veteran Steve Klesaris) is off to a solid beginning at this meet 4-2-2-0.
4th pick: #1 (Seldom Seen Slim) (8-1) - Well-bred runner has run evenly in all four starts facing tougher and owner/trainer Dave Jacobson will be dropping him into a claimer for the first time. May grab a shae, but he'll need a career best for anything more than that.
