(# 1) STATELY PEGASUS - New York-bred maiden ran extremely well in his last three starts - all on grass. He tackled open company maidens at Gulfstream Park twice, got beat by about a length in both, running very well. Back north he had a draw towards the outside on Aqueduct's turf course, a tough disadvantage to overcome. Still ran fine second. Gets to stretch his legs and stride on Belmont's big course and does so with the ground saving hedge draw. It's his race to lose.
