(# 2) DEFREREOFTHEHEART - Nice race in first try with winners from a wide post on Belmont Stakes day. Winner of that event (Berry Bound) finished first in the New York Derby at Finger Lakes last Saturday, only to get disqualified. Second finisher in last (Smokey Chimney) is another talented runner. This gelding makes his turf debut today and his speed should have him in it from the start.

(# 1) Akebono - He broke his maiden in game fashion at this track, surface and distance. He may need to break a little more alertly in this event.

(# 4) Takmeouttodabalgame - He returned to trainer Bush after a failed Tampa campaign. Sprinted on the dirt in the first race off the three-month layoff, he closed for fourth. Back to the turf and a cutback of a furlong. No speed to speak of, so he needs some pace help.

(# 5) Here Comes Carlie - First try against winners was encouraging, and this gelding has found a new home on the grass this season. Distance and level stay the same. Needs to avoid a wide trip.
