(# 3) FACTUAL CONTENDER - She has become a "new" horse since moving to the grass late in 2006. She's 2-for-4 on the turf, including a small stakes last out over this surface. The bad news for the other starters is that this is her initial race against fellow New York breds on the grass. She's fresh, fit, working well and drew a good post in the nine-furlong race, with the short run into the first turn. Very tough to beat.

(# 4) Rewrite - Talented, lightly raced filly trained by Chris Clement has only one bad race on her resume and that was her first start ever which came on the dirt. She hasn't run on that surface again. Has some speed to offer and I think they'll try for the top and see if the pick doesn't bring her "A" game today.

(# 8) Artistic Express - Useful filly started to put it together in late summer into early fall last season. Is a grinding mid-pack type on her best day, and her post draw makes her vulnerable to a poor trip.

(# 1) Half Heaven - Good solid turf horse has found Polytrack surface at Turfway Park to her liking. Returns to New York after a winter in Kentucky and has been freshened up by trainer Dale Romans for an assault on the filly and mare turf stakes that are pretty abundant the rest of the season. Draws the comfortable hedge, has Prado aloft and is working well.
