Top pick: #1a (C C'S PAL) - Veteran mare is (7-3-2-2) since moving to the barn of Rick Dutrow last fall and all of those starts have come in stakes races. She won a $60K small stakes here October 23rd in her only previous local appearance and her stalking style fits this field. 5yo has a solid shot at defeating the presumed heavy favorite, #3 Nicole H.
2nd pick: #3 (Nicole H) - The field's most accomplished member, she's won 5 stakes dating back to Dec of 2010 and has placed in many others, including a near miss in the rich Barbara Fritchie(G2) at Laurel on Feb 18th. She's capable from both on and off the pace and is an obvious win threat.
3rd pick: #4 (Kid Kate) - Trainer Chad Brown has scratched this mare a couple of times recently while looking for the right spot for her race for the first time since late October. Training well on the deep training track at Saratoga and 5yo likes this surface(6-1-2-2). She's an "off" track specialist (5-4-0-1) and that may be the case today. Daughter of "Lemon Drop Kid" needs a fast pace to rally into.
