Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #7 (CHIMNEY ROCK) (2-1) - Stalker has gone 7-2-3-0 in sprints on the grass and has been competitive in all five stakes attempts. The colt ships from Churchill where he won a 5.5-furlong allowance May 17 in his first race since Jan. 26. With his normal effort, he gets a slight edge.
2nd pick: #2 (Jack and Noah) (3-1) - This French import has excellent early speed and was nipped by a 'head' last out at Churchill by 'Chimney Rock.' He broke his maiden here at this distance when debuting in late Sept. and should be in this from gate-to-wire.
3rd pick: #5 (Turned Aside) (4-1) - A son of 'American Pharoah,' he's gone 5-2-1-1 to date, all on the grass and at this distance. Unraced since late Nov., he's training fast, has stalking ability, and was within range of 'Jack and Noah' the two times they met in the Fall. A threat if ready, but he gives away a recency advantage to the top two picks.
4th pick: #4 (Guildsman) (7-2) - Another French-bred, he kept top quality company overseas and has rallied to finish 3rd in both starts in this country. He was a bit over three lengths behind both 'Chimney Rock' and 'Jack and Noah' last out at Churchill, and his late-running style would benefit from a fast and/or contested pace.
