Top pick: #10 (WONDER GAL) (3-1) - Filly showed a lot of promise last season as a 2yo. She placed in several G1 stakes and finished a close up 3rd in the Breeder's Cup Juvenile Fillies Stakes (G1) at Santa Anita Nov. 1. Sent in for a 5-month break at that time, she rallied to finish 3rd in the G1 Acorn Stakes here June 6. She's one of only three entered with a win on the deep surface and 2nd here in the (G1) Frizette Stakes last October. The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #4 (Munasara) (10-1) - Undefeated (2 for 2) daughter of 'Bernardini' has a stalking style and won here going a mile facing weaker May 10. Freshened up since, she's working nicely, John Velazquez stays aboard, and filly gets a big class test today.
3rd pick: #1 (Embellish the Lace) (7-2) - Speedy filly has won her last two by a combined 24-lengths. Both were out of town, one each at Philly Park & Pimlico. The 'figure' earned last out in Maryland was the highest any of her 9 opponents has reached to this point.
4th pick: #9 (Eskenformoney) (5-1) - From the Pletcher barn, she's been freshened up since a troubled trip in the Kentucky Oaks (G1) at Churchill Downs May 1. Long winded type will have no problem with the distance and can factor if able to avoid a wide trip.
5th pick: #2 (Include Betty) (8-1) - No speed type has won 3 of 6 this year including a G3 stakes at Oaklawn April 5. In shape, but daughter of 'Include' will need a fast/and or contested pace to close into. Even then, some others will have 'first run' on her. A small slice is predicted.
