Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #3 (MCKENZIE) (5-2) - This hard-hitter rallied to win Santa Anita's seven-furlong Triple Bend Stakes (G2) June 7. He showed no ill effects after a poor effort in Saudi Arabia Feb. 29, and he may have won this race last year if not for a rather poor ride by Mike Smith. Working fast in California before shipping here, I give him a slight edge.
2nd pick: #2 (Vekoma) (7-2) - He's always been highly thought of and has looked absolutely super winning his last pair, both stakes. Latest saw him win the local G1 Carter Handicap by just over seven lengths in a sparkling 1:21 flat June 6. The lightly raced 4yo is very dangerous in this spot.
3rd pick: #5 (Code of Honor) (5-2) - Strong finisher rallied to win the local Westchester Stakes (G3) going 8.5 furlongs June 6. He loves it at Belmont (4-3-1-0), but he will need a fast and/or contested pace to help his stretch running style out.
4th pick: #6 (Endorsed) (8-1) - It was a nice effort last out as he was involved every step before losing by a 1/2-length to 'Code of Honor' June 6. He has a flexible style and draws outside of the other contenders, which will give Joel Rosario early options.
