Very fast gelding is working sharply for his new trainer and they bring in "speed specialist" rider C.C. Lopez for this. He'll be very tough to beat this afternoon.
2nd pick: #5 (Formidable) - "Formidable" challenger has raced well in his two turf sprints (both at 5 furlongs) and the extra 1/8th he runs at today weighs in his favor. His trainer Hall of Famer H. Allen Jerkens is having an outstanding meet (27-10-4-3) and has this colt by "Sky Mesa" working fast for this attempt. The main danger from just off the top.
3rd pick: #7 (Perfect Officer) - Has some talent, some back class, a good closing kick. Appears to be nearing his best and has a "bullet" drill up at Saratoga for this.
