Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #9 (MOTHER MOTHER) (5-2) - Santa Anita invader from the barn of Bob Baffert has been competitive in all four stakes attempts since coming off just under an eight-month layoff Dec. 28. Stalker was working fast before shipping here, and she has run well on wet tracks in the past. 4yo draws a good post for her style and gets a slight edge.
2nd pick: #8 (Chalon) (7-2) - As consistent as they come, this lightly raced 6yo has gone 18-7-7-1 with all of those starts being in dirt sprints. Multiple stakes winner has been idle since Oct. 5, but is working fast, has won off of layoffs in the past, is 10-5-3-1 at this distance, while she's 3-1-2-0 locally. A win candidate.
3rd pick: #4 (Royal Charlotte) (3-1) - On the sidelines since Oct. 19, she won five of seven last year with three of her victories coming in stakes. A 4yo daughter of 'Cairo Prince', she was a four-length winner here in Victory Ride (G3) July 5 in her only previous local attempt. From the Chad Brown barn, she's in the win mix.
4th pick: #3 (Honey I'm Good) (10-1) - Speedy filly moves in with stakes company for the first time. She's gone 9-4-1-3 to date, all in sprints on dirt or turf, and won her debut here by 13.5 lengths back in early Oct. of 2018. Working fast, I expect her to make the lead and take them as far as she can.
