Top pick: #3 (SILVER MEDALLION) - Very consistent sort has always been highly thought of by his connections and has proven over time that the grsss is his preference (9-4-2-1). He won back-to-back stakes this past winter in Florida before chasing and tiring on Feb. 11 in the Gulfstream Park Turf H. (G1). Freshened up since then, he's working sharply and is the horse to beat.
2nd pick: #4 (Upgrade) - Speed/stalker has spent his entire career on the grass and is (15-4-7-2) overall and despite that fine record, he'll be racing in a stakes for the first time. Last out at Gulfstream on March 17th he rallied to defeat a very tough group in an allowance-optional claimer. Fernando Jara (who won the Belmont Stakes) several years back is in for the mount.
3rd pick: #5 (Boisterous) - Phipp's Stable runner is 6-for-12 on the grass and more importantly is 3-for-5 locally. He closed out last year with a (G2) win at Aqueduct in the Red Smith H. and showed some speed before tiring in his seasonal bow at Gulfstream in March. Strong stretch runner would love a fast/and or contest pace to develop.
