Top pick: #2 (ROOM SERVICE) (4-1) - Home bred by "More Than Ready" has won three in a row and last out was victorious in the "American Oaks" (G1) at Santa Anita on May 31st. She's gotten better going longer distances and believe she still has room for upside. Gets a slight edge in a deep field.
nd pick: #5 (Flying Jib) (5-1) - Juddmonte home bred is one of four European invaders that are making their North American debuts. Lured here by this $1,000,000 purse, they all have talent and each is dangerous. This lightly-raced grey filly won a Group 3 stakes at the Curragh in Iteland on May 4th in her first since last Oct. She's won three in a row overall, has lasix added, and a top rider (P.J. Smullen) is riding for a top barn (Dermot Weld).
rd pick: #3 (My Conquestadory) (12-1) - Longshot has been sharp in all four appearances and her speed/stalking style should play well in this 10-furlong contest. Grade 1 winner is training fast for this and J.J. Castellano is signed on.
th pick: #1 (Goldy Espony) (10-1) - French import comes off the only poor effort in seven starts and Group 3 winner has lasix added by her new trainer (Chad Brown). The distance isn't a problem and she has the best early speed of the Euros.
th pick: #7 (Xcellence) (3-1) - Another French bred import, she's gone 7-2-2-2 overall and comes here off a pair of third-place finishes in a pair of important Group 1 races in her native country. Must be left in the mix.
