Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #10 (TALADEGA) (4-1) - He just missed (a 'neck') last out at Saratoga at this level. It was his second back from a pair of layoffs and second for trainer Jeremiah Englehart. Well bred 4yo was away slowly that day and was probably best. Drops for this, and he gets a slight edge.
2nd pick: #11 (Big Al Parker) (12-1) - Longshot has early speed, is dropping down, and draws a good outside post at this one-turn mile. He was only four lengths back of 'Taladega' last out and raced wide after a poor break. Price play.
3rd pick: #1 (Old Friend) (6-1) - No speed type takes the same drop as the top two picks. He has some closing kick and is a late factor, especially if the pace is fast and/or contested.
4th pick: #8 (Mind Magic) (5-1) - Lightly raced gelding races first off a claim by Mike Maker (a 21% winning angle). He has early speed and finished 2nd here at this level June 20. Must be left in the mix.
5th pick: #6 (A Marked Man) (7-2) - Freshened up since early July, one run type has been competitive in five straight here at this claiming price. Fits, is working sharply, is a threat, but he's always over-bet.
